As the Summer draws ever closer, I seem to be drifting more towards simple styling pieces and (dare I say?) ... neutrals! Now that is something I never thought I'd say. Obviously, I would never abandon my love of colour and of course, my Summer wardrobe is still very much in this bracket, but I've found myself drifting towards more muted pieces that I can just throw on in 20 degree heat and be good to go. I also find that these truly are the best pieces to get your value for money for, styled under jumpers or over t-shirts in the cooler months, with a simple swap of sandals for boots or trainers does the trick nicely.

I'll be the first to admit that I am a serious impulse shopper, and I'd bet my life on it that any one of my friends or family could back me up on that. With this in mind, I've been trying to shop more carefully this season, only opting for pieces that I know aren't overly trend-heavy and will last (hopefully) a fair few Summer's to come, and that also offer endless styling possibilities! Tom and I are heading to Tenerife in early September and this dress in particular, I know for a fact will work for so many things. A throw-on for the beach or by the pool? Check. Dressed up for the evening with some colourful heels and beaded bag? Check! Ultimate comfort for airport attire? Check, check, check! And the best part? It's only £29.99! Hurrah!

  1. Such a chic and cool look you have here dear! That blush dress makes the red bag pop even more, what a lovely complement of colors.
