RESTAURANT REVIEW: BILL'S (YORK)

20.10.15

'From breakfast to bedtime, and everything in between'.

Bill's restaurant is pretty well known for it's wide range of scrumptious brunches and breakfasts - all incredibly instagram-worthy. Whilst on a weekend away in York, my family and I decided to pop into the infamous food haven and try their evening menu, accompanied by a pretty nifty little cocktail menu.

I opted for the chicken skewers, which were served with piadina bread and salad aplenty, whilst my pops opted for the butcher's board (actually a sharing platter, but he managed to polish it off pretty well on his own). Both meals were superb, with the chicken spiced to perfection and the perfect amount of sides to accompany it on the plate.

My sister and I also decided to share a portion of sweet potato chips, which I was a little wary of as more often than not, I find restaurant's can undercook them, but if I had any reservations whatsoever, they certainly disappeared as soon as I tried these. Super crispy, and full of flavour. My sister and I pretty much fought to the death over the final one.

Next came the dessert menu. For someone like myself, who has a sweet-tooth, this is you dream. From Eton Mess to Chocolate Fudge Cake, there's something for everyone. My sister decided on the Eton Mess whilst I went for the Treacle Tart, which came with a scoop of honeycomb ice-cream (oh boy) and caramel sauce. The description alone has got my mouth watering again! After having a nibble of my sister's too, it's fair to say that they were two of the best desserts I've had.

Thanks, Bill's!
